DESIGN SYSTEM
This project was done at Aliexpress. The project was to design a design system for all of the featured sections in the mobile app.
BACKGROUND
There were several featured sections, including the fashion, tech discovery, and coin and game sections, among others. Initially, these sections were created using HTML5 rather than native development. As they evolved, I needed to convert them into native code. The goal of the project was to create about 10 modules that could cover 90% of all existing and future featured sections.

APPROACH
The approach we selected was to use HTML5 for initial testing, rather than A/B testing with native code, so that we could save time and resources in each iteration cycle. This approach also allowed us to launch the section sooner and test it more quickly. By the time we started the module project, we had already accumulated a significant amount of data and user research. The key goal of this project was to determine which modules would work best for all featured sections, while maintaining or improving overall performance. After extensive exploration, we identified a solution.
IMPACT
This set of modules were done by about 10 expandable modules. They are applied to all featured sections in the mobile app. The overall performace of all featured sections were also improved.
